FIELD: optics; image forming apparatus.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical devices with a substrate, in particular to devices with multiple reflecting surfaces located on a common light-transmitting substrate. Disclosed information display system which generates a uniform image comprises a light-conducting substrate characterized by the presence of an input aperture, an output aperture, at least two main surfaces and edges; optical element for input of light waves into the light-conducting substrate along the full internal reflection; at least one surface with partial reflection, located between two main surfaces of the light-conducting substrate for partial reflection of light waves from the light-conducting substrate; and first transparent plate, characterized by the presence of at least two main surfaces, wherein one of the main surfaces of the first transparent plate is optically connected to the base surface of the light-conducting substrate, forming a separation plane. Beam-splitting coating is applied on a plane of separation between the light-conducting substrate and the first transparent plate such that the light-conducting substrate and the first transparent plate form at least a part of the light-guide optical element having an upper base surface, a lower main surface and a separation plane. Upper main surface, the lower main surface and the internal plane of separation with partial reflection are parallel to each other. Light waves entering the light-conducting substrate are partially reflected from the separation plane and partially pass through it. Light waves are subjected to multiple reflections from the upper main surface and the lower main surface between the input aperture and the output aperture.
EFFECT: simplified design and improved operational characteristics.
