FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is intended for treating keratoconus. Funnel is placed on surface of eyeball, said funnel having an internal diameter greater than that of cornea. Funnel is filled with 0.1 % riboflavin solution on 20 % solution of dextran to a volume completely covering surface of cornea, and when volume decreases, solution is periodically added into funnel, maintaining constant volume of solution in funnel to saturate cornea with riboflavin solution. Ultraviolet irradiation is carried out at wave length 365 nm for 30 minutes, which is accompanied by additional instillations of 0.1 % riboflavin solution at 20 % solution of dextran on cornea every 2-3 minutes to maintain its concentration. Filling funnel, made with closed plug on neck, with riboflavin solution is carried out through one of two nozzles arranged in plug, and after filling, closing said nozzle and via other nozzle sterile air is fed under pressure in range from 20 to 30 mm Hg for not more than 5 minutes. By carrying out depressurisation of funnel, is biomicroscopic control of corneal saturation with riboflavin solution is carried out and if necessary in case of insufficient corneal saturation said serial steps are repeated.
EFFECT: group of inventions increases rate of saturation of cornea.
