TOOL FOR ANALYSING DATA ON LIQUID EMISSIONS IN ABSORBENT ARTICLE, ABSORBENT ARTICLE ADAPTED FOR COLLECTION OF DATA ON LIQUID EMISSIONS, AND CONTROL UNIT, WHICH INTERACTS WITH ABSORBENT ARTICLE FOR COLLECTION OF DATA ON LIQUID EMISSIONS Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61F13/42

Abstract RU 2594558 C2

FIELD: personal hygiene items.

SUBSTANCE: absorbent article comprises a plurality of detection zones to detect liquid discharges. Each detection zone is provided by first and second electrically conductive paths that are electrically isolated from one another and arranged so that a liquid discharge between first and second conductive paths allows electrical current to flow between first and second conductive paths, which is able to be detected, to detect presence of liquid discharge in respective zone. Plurality of zones is longitudinally distributed with respect to absorbent article along an absorbent core of absorbent article, to allow longitudinal extent of discharge to be ascertained. First and second conductive paths are connected to contacts for electrically contacting first and second conductive paths to a control unit by a respective lead insulated from absorbent core of absorbent article, wherein first and second electrical paths are in electrical contact with absorbent core. Also disclosed is a system for detecting a liquid discharge. System comprises an absorbent article described above, and a control unit. Control unit is configured to measure an electrical property between first and second conductive paths to allow detection of when liquid discharge is present between first and second conductive paths and to do so for each of plurality of detection zones. Also disclosed is an absorbent article for absorbing liquid discharge of user when worn in crotch area of user. Absorbent article comprising first and second electrically conductive paths that are electrically isolated from one another and which are disposed about a periphery of absorbent article between elastic portions for legs, such that a liquid discharge of wearer that spreads between first and second conductive paths provides a conductive path therebetween, which enables leak detection to be carried out. Also disclosed is system for detecting a liquid discharge, comprising a control unit and absorbent article described above, wherein control unit is configured to apply a potential between first and second conductive paths and to measure an electrical property between them to allow determination of whether liquid discharge has spread to a position between first and second conductive paths. Also disclosed is a system for detecting liquid discharge, which comprises an absorbent article and a control unit and in which absorbent article for absorbing liquid discharge (for example, urination, menstruation or faecal liquid) when worn in crotch area comprises a plurality of detection zones to detect liquid discharges. Each detection zone is formed by first and second electroconductive paths, which are electrically insulated from each other and are arranged so that liquid discharge between first and second conducting paths allows passage of electric current between first and second conducting paths, which can be detected for detecting presence of liquid discharge in respective zone. Plurality of zones is longitudinally distributed with respect to absorbent article along an absorbent core of absorbent article, to allow longitudinal extent of discharge to be ascertained. First and second conducting paths are located at a certain distance from each other in longitudinal direction. First and second conducting paths are elongated and are aligned in transverse direction. Control unit is configured to measure an electrical property between first and second conductive paths to allow detection of when liquid discharge is present between first and second conductive paths and to do so for each of plurality of detection zones.

EFFECT: disclosed is an absorbent article for absorbing liquid discharge (for example, urination, mensturation or faecal liquid) when worn in crotch area of user.
