FIELD: hygiene.
SUBSTANCE: absorbent product for absorbing liquid discharge of user when worn in crotch area. Absorbent product comprises an absorbent core for absorbing liquid discharge. Conducting layer is in electrical contact with absorbent core. Product comprises at least one set of first and second electric contacts located in close physical and electrical contact with conducting layer so that when electric potential is applied between first and second electric contacts, electric current passes between them and through conducting layer so as to pass along first path with relatively high impedance at conducting layer, when absorbent core is dry and on path with relatively low impedance, when absorbent core is wet (for example, at least partially through absorbent core).
EFFECT: present system even in dry state allows inspection of system and determining length of wet section of absorbent core.
