FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 1,2-disubstituted imidazoline alkenyl succinimides by reacting maleic anhydride with olefins at high temperature, followed by reacting alkenyl succinic anhydride with amines in the presence of a solvent, characterised by that as the olefins a polyalphaolefin with molecular weight of 800-950, or polyisobutylene with molecular weight of 750-1050, or an ethylene oligomer with molecular weight of 950-1150, of an ethylene and propylene copolymer containing 55-60% propylene links with molecular weight of 850-950 are used; the process is carried out in the presence of an initiator first at 75-85°C for 1-1.5 h, then at 170-180°C for 3.5-4 h, with molar ratio of polyalphaolefin, or polyisobutylene, or ethylene oligomer, or ethylene and propylene copolymer: maleic anhydride =1:1.0-1.05, followed by condensation of the obtained alkenyl succinic anhydride in oil with 1,2-disubstituted imidazolines of formula: , where R=(CH3)2CH, CH3(CH2)2, C17H33, n=1-2, with molar ratio of alkenyl succinic anhydride:1,2-disubstituted imidazoline equal to 1:1, first at 50-80°C for 1-1.5 h, and then at 145-155°C for 4.5-5 h.
EFFECT: method of producing alkenyl succinimides of 1,2-disubstituted imidazoline derivatives, which can be used as anticorrosion, detergent and dispersion additives in lubricating oils for reducing formation carbon deposits on components of internal combustion engines.
