FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of petrochemical synthesis, in particular to a process for the preparation of alkenyl phthalamide succinimides by reacting maleic anhydride with olefins at an elevated temperature followed by the reaction of alkenylsuccinic anhydride with amines in the presence of a solvent, characterized in that maleic anhydride reacts with a polyalphaolefin having a molecular weight of 700–1,200 or polyisobutylene having a molecular weight of 700–1,100, or with an ethylene oligomer of molecular weight 800–1,050, or an ethylene-propylene copolymer containing 50–60 % propylene units, having a molecular weight of 800–900 in the presence of an initiator, first at a temperature of 85–90 °C for 1.5–2.0 hours, then at 180–185 °C for 3.5–5 hours at a molar ratio of polyalphaolefin, polyisobutylene, oligomer of ethylene: maleic anhydride = 1:1.02–1.04, followed by condensation of the resulting alkenylsuccinic anhydride in oil with N,N'-bis(2-ethylamino)phthalamide or N,N'-bis(2-isopropylamino)phthalamide, or N,N'-bis(2-ethylamino)amidophthalidene, or N,N'-bis(2-isopropylamino)amidophthalidene, or N,N'-bis(2-ethylamino)toluilamide, or N,N'-bis(2-isopropylamino)toluilamide at a molar ratio of alkenylsuccinanhydride : N,N'-bis(2-ethylamino)phthalamide or N,N'-bis(2-isopropylamino)phthalamide, or N,N'-bis(2-ethylamino)amidophthalidene, or N,N'-bis(2-isopropylamino)amidophthalidene, equal to 1–2:1 or N,N'-bis(2-ethylamino)toluilamide, or N,N'-bis(2-isopropylamino)toluilamide in a molar ratio of 1:1 first at 85–90 °C for 2–2.5 hours, then at 155–160 °C for 3.5–5 hours.

EFFECT: method has been developed for the production of new alkenyl phthalamide succinimides that can be used as anticorrosive, detergent and dispersant additives in lubricating oil compositions to reduce the formation of carbon deposits on the parts of internal combustion engines.
