FIELD: radio engineering and communications.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to radio communication. Proposed process relates to supporting the release of total radio resources in the radio communication network. Radio network controller sends a message with timer value for implicit release of total radio resources to the base station (100). Base station receives the message with timer value for implicit release of total radio resources and determines whether to release the total radio resources, based on the message with timer value for implicit release of total radio resources.
EFFECT: using the message with timer value for implicit release the base station can correctly identify, whether to release the shared resources, after receiving a report on the empty buffer status from the UE; this eliminates incorrect interpretation of the empty buffer status report and prevents undesirable failures of radio communication.
