FIELD: protection means.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to armoured barriers and can be used for manufacturing of personal protective equipment or light-armoured machines for protection against bullets of small arms with a "soft" thermally hardened steel or lead core. Multilayer armour consists of a front layer of armor steel, the hardness of which exceeds the hardness of bullet material, and of a rear armour package of high-strength polymer fibres in the form of material layers or layers of unidirectional fibers laid at an angle of 90° relative to the previous layer, or in the form of their combinations; at that, the armour is made in the form of a monoblock, where the front layer has a hardness of 48-56 HRC and is connected with the rear armour package by an adhesive binder, while the ratio of the front layer thickness and of the total armour package thickness constitutes 1:1-1:3.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improved protective properties of armour during protection against bullets of small arms with a "soft" non-thermally hardened steel or lead core.
