FIELD: animal breeding.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to fodder production. Multi-texture treat for animals contains one or more soft components containing mechanical assembly, and solid component. Each soft component includes a bundle, swirled along length. Each soft component has a mechanical assembly, which protrudes from bundle throughout at least part of bundle, soft component has hardness measured at values of compressibility Instron from approximately 1 pound-force (4.448 N) to approximately 20 pound-force (88.96 N). Solid component and attached to respective mechanical assembly on one or more soft component has hardness measured at values of compressibility Instron from nearly 25 pounds-force (111.2 N) to about 60 pound-force (266.88 N). Solid component contains 60-86 wt% is gelatinised into paste grains cereal, 4-15 wt% of water and 8-20 wt% of polyatomic solvent selected from ethylene glycol, glycerin, propylene glycol or sorbitol. Method of making multi-texture treats for animals involves mixing dry mixture components for solid component with plasticisers in extruder to produce initial melted mass; mixing dry mixture components for soft component with plasticisers to produce a mixture for soft component; mixing and heating mixture for soft component to produce thick mass and coextrusion of initial molten mass and thick mass through extruder head die to produce multi-texture treats for animals. Initial molten mass forms first elongated bundle with slot, and dense mass forms second elongated bundle swirled along length, thick mixture contains mechanical assembly, which protrudes from second bundle during at least part of length of second bundle, and is attached by means of a slot to first fused mass until is in head of extruder die to form mechanical unit.
EFFECT: group of inventions enables to provide animal nutritional components in more tasty form, as well as provides maintaining strength of teeth in domestic animals.
