MULTI-TEXTURE TREATS FOR ANIMALS Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A23K40/25

Abstract RU 2591122 C2

FIELD: veterinary science.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to multi-textured animal treats and method for production thereof. Said treat comprises a hard component and a soft component. Body of hard component has a length of cylindrical shape and at least one point of mechanical connection, which protrudes from cylindrical body for at least part of its length. Hard component has hardness, as shown by measurement values of compressibility instrument Instron, which varies from approximately 25 lb-f (111.2 newton [N]) up to 60 lb-f (266.9 N). Soft component is wrapped around solid component in form of a spiral and is fixed to corresponding place of mechanical connection on solid component. Soft component has hardness, as shown by measurement values of compressibility instrument Instron, which varies from approximately 1 lb-f (4.45 N) to 20 lb-f (88.96 N). Soft component can be attached to corresponding place of mechanical connection with help of adhesive. To obtain a first melt of multi-textured treat, dry mixture of components of solid component are mixed with plasticisers in an extruder. For production of a mixture of soft component, dry mixture components are mixed with plasticisers. Method includes mixing and thermal treatment of soft component mixture to produce dough. Method includes combined extrusion of first melt and dough through extruder head unit to form multi-textured treat for animals, first melt is formed in an elongated bundle, having at least one ledge along length and at least one protrusion extending from elongated bundle during at least part of length. Dough covers protrusion until it is located in extruder head to make mechanical joint.

EFFECT: soft component of multi-textured treat is not separated from hard component for a long period of time.
