FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, specifically to interaction of wheel pair with track, and can be used for curves. To improve wheel-rail system elements, method includes shifting point of interaction on rail rolling surface towards centre of curve. Shift is performed by changing outer rail canting or changing canting of both rails. Distance between rail joints is not changed. On rail rolling surface with changed canting, a flat spot is made, having a slope equal to standardised for given road slope of wheel rolling surface, width of not less than 1/8 and not more than 1/5 of rail head width. Wheel rim profile is matched with outer rail profile.
EFFECT: possibility of reducing intensity of wear in wheel-rail system, improving smooth run of rolling stock and traffic safety.
