SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and can be used in the manufacture and repair of passenger car wheels. Surface profile of the rim of the railway wheel, which includes the conjugate profiles of the ridge and rolling surface, is made in the form of a line consisting of conjugate segments of straight lines and arcs of circles. Profile is made for railway wheels of passenger cars with a rim width T=130 mm and an inclination angle of the ridge working surface 65°. Profile of the inner surface of the ridge contains an arc R1=40 mm, conjugate with the arc R2=13 mm, forming the crest of the ridge at a height of S=28 mm at the interface with the working surface of the ridge formed by the arc R3=13 mm and a straight line conjugate with it an inclination angle of 65° to the horizontal, which is further conjugate with the surface of the wheel along the filleted corner, circumscribed in series by conjugate arcs R4=25 mm and R5=16 mm. Rolling surface is formed by successively conjugate arcs R6=100 mm, R7=180 mm, a straight segment with a slope of 1/20 at -5<x<30, an arc R8=50 mm and a straight line with a slope of 1/7 at 34.57<x<54, where x is the current coordinate along the X axis, expressed in mm, with the origin at point I, where the profile intersects with the plane of the circle of the wheel, located at a distance of 70 mm from the inner surface of the rim.

EFFECT: reduction of ridge wear, contact fatigue damage to the rolling surface, and uniform wear of the wheel.
