FIELD: railroad transport.
SUBSTANCE: this invention can be applied for wheel production and turning of Velaro RUS (Sapsan) electric train or similar type wheels. Surface profile of a railroad wheel includes mating flange and rolling surfaces, and is made in the form of a line containing smoothly mating linear and arc segments. A profile is made for 135 mm wide rail road wheel with 70° deflection angle of the flange operating surface. This profile includes an inner flange surface profile which includes a vertical linear segment consequentially mated with arc R1=20.5 mm, and further with arc R2=12 mm, which forms a flange top; then the flange operating surface formed by arc R3=21.5 mm is located and mated mating with inclined linear segment with 70° deflection angle to a horizontal plane; further the flange operating surface is mated with a radial wheel rolling surface of R4=15 mm. The rolling surface is formed by consequentially mated arcs of radiuses R6=63.2 mm, R6=89.0 mm, R7=398.3 mm which serve as a continuation of modelling rounding-out, and are mated with consequentially located linear segments with 1/20 deflection angle at 55.33 < x < 100.00 and 1/7 at 100/0 < x < 129.0, where x is a current x-coordinate point (mm), which starts at the inner surface of the wheel.
EFFECT: decrease of contact pressure at the rolling surface of the railroad wheel when contacted with the rail.
