FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: device for compensation of reactive power comprises a multi-winding voltage transformer, connected to load of rectifying and inverting converter and engine, compensator, including two reactive power sources made as LC-circuit, current sensor, voltage sensor, synchronising pulse unit, rectifier, inverter, booster transformer, unit for calculating active power, unit for calculating full power and unit for extremal control, containing delay line unit, dead zone setting unit, first and second comparison elements, signum relay and inverter control unit. Load is connected in parallel to voltage transformer, which, through current sensor, is connected to network, input of voltage sensor is connected in parallel to network, and its output is connected to input of synchronising pulse unit. Reactive power sources via secondary windings of booster transformer, as well as inverter through rectifier are connected to secondary windings of voltage transformer. Outputs of current sensor and synchronising pulse unit are connected to inputs of units for calculation of active and full power, outputs of which are connected to inputs of unit for computing power factor. Output of unit for computing power factor is connected to input of extreme control, output of which is connected to first input of inverter, inverter output is connected to booster transformer.
EFFECT: increasing power coefficient km of electric locomotive to extremely high values.
