FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric railway transport. Compensator is designed to increase power factor of consuming equipment, particularly, AC electric locomotive with voltage zone-phase control. This device ensures equality between compensator power and electric locomotive reactive power Qel=QCRP in all operating conditions by smooth adjustment of compensator reactive power QCRP, and increased in locomotive speed by increasing voltage at its current collector. It comprises multiwinding voltage transformer connected with consuming hardware including rectifier-inverter converter and motor. Compensator comprises first and second reactive power sources with fixed LC-circuit parameters, current transducer, voltage transducer, clock pulse unit, and inverter control unit, inverter and booster transformer connected in series. Note here that consuming hardware is connected in parallel with voltage transformer via current transducer. Outputs of reactive power sources are interconnected. Secondaries of booster transformer are connected to third section of voltage transformer secondary.
EFFECT: higher power factor at all current loads.
