FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and is intended for electric rolling stock of alternating current with zone-phase voltage regulation. Device for compensating the reactive power of the rolling stock contains a multi-winding voltage transformer connected to the load, an LC compensator, a synchronization pulse unit, two current sensors, two voltage sensors, a rectifier, an inverter, an inverter control unit, a booster transformer, a comparison element, and a PI controller connected in a specific manner. Also, the device contains two reactive power calculation units, including a filter, a differentiator, an amplifier, a multiplier, an integrator. First and second reactive power calculation units, the comparison element, the PI controller, the inverter and the secondary winding circuit of the booster transformer form the automatic control system (ACS) of the reactive power according to the deviation (error).
EFFECT: increase of power factor of an electric locomotive.
