FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnological industry. Method for producing a chemical product produced from a microorganism (microorganisms) using continuous fermentation of cellulose-containing biomass-derived sugar liquid. Method comprises filtering a culture liquid of a microorganism(s) through a separation membrane; retaining unfiltered liquid in, or refluxing unfiltered liquid to, the culture liquid; adding a fermentation feedstock to the culture liquid and recovering a product. Ratio between the hexose and the pentose contained in the sugar liquid is 1:9 to 9:1, wherein said pentose is xylose. Oxygen transfer coefficient (KLa) is 5 to 300 h-1. For pentose metabolism microorganism use(s) xylose reductase and xylitol dehydrogenase.
EFFECT: invention provides high output of chemical substance.
