FIELD: gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrically heated honeycomb bodies for spent gas treatment. Honeycomb body (14) with multiple sheet metal layers (1, 2, 3, 4) which together form a central electrically conductive current path (23) and which is electrically connected to a connecting pin (12). Honeycomb body (14) has metal casing (7) which determines an inner circumference (I) and through which connecting pin (12) is guided in a feedthrough (10) in an electrically insulating manner. Sheet metal layers (1, 2, 3, 4) are coarsely structured (2) and finely structured or smooth (1) sheets which are arranged alternately and which together form a stack (5) with uppermost (3) and lowermost (4) sheet metal layer, said stack having between sheet metal layers (1, 2, 3, 4) channels (19) through which a gas can flow in an axial direction (A). Connecting pin (12) in a radial direction (R) passes through metal casing (7) and by means of electrically conductive connection (13) in connection region (6) is directly or via at least one intermediate part (9) metallically connected with at least two sheet metal layers (1, 2, 3, 4). Electrical resistance per unit of length of central current path (23) in connection region (6) is maximally 10 % greater than an average electrical resistance per unit of length of central current path (23) in stack (5).

EFFECT: technical result is simple production of safe-to-operate and very uniformly electrically heated honeycomb body.
