SUBSTANCE: tyre comprises tread (2) provided with blocks (201-204) formed between longitudinal (205-207) and transverse grooves. Between blocks particularly broad intersections (212) are formed, for example by staggering substantially transverse grooves of circumferential rows axially in side-by- side relationship, of blocks with rounded corners. Inside such broad intersections (212) a stocky-shaped protrusion (216) is arranged which has a lateral stiffness greater than lateral stiffness of surrounding blocks (201-204).

EFFECT: better grip on asphalt roads, and off-road in terms of road grip, comfort and noise level.
