FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a pump-turbine plant. Plant comprises turbine (1) with impeller (1.1) and spiral housing (1.2), pump (2) with impeller (2.1) and spiral housing (2.2), electric machine. Between turbine (1) and pump (2) the possibility of creating hydraulic short circuit is stipulated. Turbine (1) has higher rated power than pump (2). Wheel (1.1, 2.1) and housing (1.2, 2.2) of turbine (1) and pump (2) form a labyrinth seal, through which during operation the leakage flow passes for cooling and/or lubrication of the seal. Seal comprises multiple ring-shaped chambers and annular slots-shaped channels interconnecting them to each other. Wheel (1.1, 2.1) and housing (1.2, 2.2) of corresponding hydraulic machine are installed with the possibility of displacement relative to each other between the operating position and non-operating position in the leakage flow direction. At least one of the machines - turbine (1) or pump (2) - has an adjustable distributor. Rated power of turbine (1) is up to 5 times more than the rated power of pump (2).
EFFECT: invention is aimed at reaching higher rated efficiency factor in a wide operating range, improved cavitation characteristics.
