FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurements for diagnostic purposes, in particular to measurements associated with evaluation of influence of food loads on the human organism. Method of determination of glycemic index based on measurement results of glucose concentration in human blood involves determining the time interval Δt from the beginning of growth of concentration of glucose caused by meal, achievement of maximum value of concentration of glucose and determination of maximum glucose concentration increment in blood ΔGmax for this period of time. At that the glycemic food index is determined as ratio of maximum blood glucose concentration increment ΔGmax to maximum blood glucose concentration increment, which would be in the human body when receiving pure glucose, the amount of which is equal to number of carbohydrates contained in consumed food additive, and which is defined as a value which proportional to product ΔGmax on Δt. Method enables determining the glycemic index immediately after consumption of multicomponent real food.

EFFECT: invention considerably simplifies procedure of determination of glycemic index of actual food and enables to create based on it simple personal devices for control over carbohydrate exchange.
