FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in diagnosing herpes virus 6 type. Method of determining avidity of IgG to herpes virus type 6 type comprises introducing serum into wells of two strips a plate immobilised with a herpes virus type 6 antigen, simultaneously incubating for 60 minutes, after which cells of first strip are treated with aqueous solution of 4 M urea, then both strips are washed and a conjugate of monoclonal antibodies to human IgG antibodies is added, strips are incubated for 40 minutes, after washing stained with 0.05 % aqueous solution of tetramethylbenzidine and held for 20-25 minutes at room temperature, reaction is stopped with 0.5 M solution of sulphuric acid, after which optical density is determined using a spectrophotometer and calculating avidity index based on obtained data.

EFFECT: use of method makes it possible to efficiently determine avidity index of IgG antibodies to herpes virus type 6, which enables to establish duration and stage of infectious process.
