FIELD: instrument making.

SUBSTANCE: absorbent product has side barrier elements of different size and comprises a lower structure. Lower structure comprises a back layer, first fluid-permeable layer connected to the back layer, and the first absorbent core layer located between the first upper layer and the back layer, first absorbent core layer has the most extreme side edges. Product also comprises an upper structure in communicated with the lower structure. Upper structure is adjacent and connected to the lower structure through the first fluid-permeable upper layer and includes the second fluid-permeable upper layer and at least one additional absorbing layer. Second fluid-permeable upper layer is folded around at least one additional layer to form practically straight of the most extreme edges of the side barrier element, most extreme edge of the side barrier elements is located inside relative to the most extreme side edges of the first absorbent layer, either as a whole are oriented in direction "depthward" with the extreme side edges of the first absorbent core layer. Upper structure is connected to the lower structure near the most extreme edges, on at least one of said lengthwise article ends. Upper structure includes an embossed channels or elements, concave or sunken relative to the most extreme edges of the side barrier element, and embossed channels or elements are within at least two layers of said product.

EFFECT: embossed channels or elements and the most extreme edge of the side barrier elements determine the side barrier elements of similar transverse width sizes, or the side barrier elements of different height sizes, or represent a combination of similar transverse width sizes and different height sizes in longitudinal direction of said product.
