FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in producing contrasting substances in magnetic resonance diagnosis, suspensions for magnetic separation of proteins and DNA and RNA molecule fragments, for targeted drug delivery. Synthesis of powder of superparamagnetic nanoparticles Fe2O3 is carried out in two stages. First, method comprises plasma-arc synthesis of metal-carbon material. Synthesised material is annealed in oxygen-containing medium at atmospheric pressure. In electric arc discharge plasma is sprayed metal-carbon composite electrode, in whose cavity, which is perforated at centre, is pressed a mixture of powders of iron and graphite in weight ratio of 2/1. Synthesis is carried out at pressure of buffer gas of 50 Torr. Synthesised material is a carbon matrix with iron-containing nanoparticles with size of 5-10 nm. Annealing is performed by heating obtained material to temperature 300 °C, holding for two hours and cooling in an oxygen-containing atmosphere.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain material resistant to oxidation and coagulation, longer storage life, transportation of said material to place of use for making suspensions reducing sticking of particles.
