FIELD: nanotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: used in chemistry, biology and medicine to intensify heat and mass transfer in liquid and gaseous media, transportation of materials during the flow of liquids in channels and porous media, as well as targeted delivery of drugs. First, a metal-carbon composite is obtained by plasma-arc synthesis directly in the arc reactor chamber, for which a metal-carbon composite electrode is used, which is a graphite rod, into a cavity drilled in the center of which a mixture of powders consisting of iron, manganese and graphite in a mass ratio is pressed 7:3:10. The specified composite electrode is sprayed in a direct current arc discharge plasma at a buffer gas pressure of 50 torr. The resulting composite material is annealed in an oxygen-containing environment at atmospheric pressure by heating it to 250-600°C and hold for two hours followed by slow cooling.

EFFECT: resulting magnetic nanoparticles MnxFe3-xO4 in a carbon matrix in powder form are resistant to oxidation and coagulation under high thermal loads, which will ensure long-term storage and transportation to the place of use for the production of suspensions.
