FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, in particular, to the plasma-arc technology for synthesising metal nanoparticles on a carbon matrix. The invention can be used as a component in manufacture of biocidal compositions applied in creation of varnish and paint coatings with bactericidal and fungicidal properties, suitable for use in industrial and residential premises, in children's and medical institutions, in public gathering areas. The method for synthesising an anti-pathogenic nanostructured Ag-C powder includes dispersion of a composite electrode in the form of a graphite rod with a drilled cavity whereto a mixture of silver and carbon powders in the form of graphite is pressed in a plasma of a direct current electric arc discharge in an atmosphere of an inert gas. The concentration of silver is from 16.7 to 50% wt. Dispersion is executed in the plasma of a direct current electric arc discharge at a buffer gas pressure of 1 to 500 torr, a discharge current of 100 to 300 A, and a discharge voltage of 15 to 35 V. The Ag-C nanocomposite constitutes a carbon matrix with silver nanoparticles with a size from 1 to 500 nm.
EFFECT: high bactericidal activity is ensured.
