FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway equipment and can be used for construction and repair of railway tracks. Ballast tamper comprises a bed moving in the vertical plane with rotary levers gimbal-mounted on it. Two hydraulic linear vibration devices with one ends are hinged on the bed, and with the other ones are pivotally connected with top ends of appropriate levers. Linear vibrators comprise hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic control unit. There is also the second hydraulic cylinder and its control unit. Axis of symmetry of one hydraulic cylinder rod is the continuation of axis of symmetry of the other hydraulic cylinder rod.
EFFECT: longer service life of ballast tamper without loss of its performance characteristics is achieved.
