SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of decorative finishing materials and multilayer flexible element and method for production thereof. Method of producing flexible element for use as decorative and/or functional element for coatings in fashion industry, production of furniture and design, comprises connection by applying a layer of rigid material made from wood on a flexible substrate by means of adhesive to produce a multilayer element and cutting layer of rigid material to form a network of slots on layer of rigid material. Layer of flexible substrate used is fabric, to form a network of slots, method comprises design of texture in vector graphics, defining structure of grid lines, and its loading into memory device for forming and focusing laser beam of device of high capacity for subsequent laser engraving and/or cutting layer of rigid material by melting and high-temperature evaporation, caused by laser beam to create network of slots on layer of rigid material and imparting multilayer element flexibility.
EFFECT: invention provides creation of universal technology of processing of rigid materials, aimed at using fabric-like or other flexible material.
