FIELD: furniture.
SUBSTANCE: piece of furniture contains a holding device and a section that contains a base, a movable plate element, a movement mechanism and an elastic device. Plate element is designed to interact with the elastic device and to move the movement mechanism relative to the base to adjust the rigidity of the resilient device, which comprises a pocket, and a resilient element located in the pocket connected to the adjacent pockets. Connection is made so that adjacent resilient devices can move independently from each other along distance measured from free end of resilient device in direction perpendicular to plate element. Retainer comprises holder, which is fixed relative to base or plate element, and connecting part, which is located on elastic device and which connects holder with resilient element. Holder on each connecting part is connected only with one or two resilient devices. Resilient element comprises a first part located near free end of resilient element, a second part located far from free end of resilient element, and intermediate part located between first and second parts. Holder, by means of connecting part is connected with intermediate part of resilient element so that during movement of plate element relative to base resilient element is compressed and released only on second part.
EFFECT: invention relates to a bed or a mattress designed to receive a user's weight, and is aimed at maintaining a relatively soft and even upper surface with high overall rigidity of the piece of furniture.
