FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compounds for coating, transparent or glossy and opaque, containing aqueous dispersion of nano particles of natural ground calcium carbonate, which are in liquid binder, to methods of producing thereof, use of compounds for applying coatings on substrate and coated substrates. Herewith, final coating can be either transparent coating or glossy and opaque coating depending on presence of certain additives, such as mineral pigment (for example, TiO2). Compound for producing transparent and glossy and opaque coating contains at least one ground natural calcium carbonate, characterised by average size of D50 particles less than 1 mcm, preferably less than 500 nm, more preferably less than 100 nm. Compound for producing glossy and opaque coating is characterised by volume concentration of pigment from 5 % up to critical volume concentration of pigment. Binder in coating compound contains at least one of the following: vinyl-acrylic, styrene-acrylic, acrylic dispersion, acrylic, alkyd, polyurethane solution dispersed in water or in solvent, polymer containing ester groups, including polyesters, polyurethane based on polyester, polyamide based on polyesters, polyurea based on polyesters.

EFFECT: invention ensures production of coatings with good stability and water resistance.
