SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in producing of paper, paints, coatings, in wastewater treatment. Method of obtaining an aqueous suspension containing a mixture of particles containing surface-modified calcium carbonate (MCC), and particles containing precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC), includes the provision of an aqueous suspension of particles containing MCC, and the provision of an aqueous suspension of particles containing PCC. These aqueous suspensions are contacted to obtain an aqueous suspension containing a mixture of particles containing MCC and particles containing PCC. Resulting aqueous suspension is then dewatered, containing a mixture of particles, where the mixture contains particles containing MCC and particles containing PCC, with mass ratio of MCC/PCC from 99:1 to 50:50.

EFFECT: present invention makes it possible to reduce expenses in production of matting agents.
