FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used for generating an output signal with a frequency varying as per an arbitrary law including the pseudo-random one, and can be used for measurement of Doppler frequency in radars and sonars, for formation of test and masking signals in audiometry. Variable-frequency digital synthesizer contains serially connected: periodic function address sensor 2, periodic function calculation unit 10, switch 11, multiplier 7, adder 8, phase calculation unit 13, amplitude calculation unit 14, digital-to-analogue converter 15 and low-pass filter 16, as well as serially connected pseudorandom sequence length sensor 3 and pseudorandom sequence generator 6, the output of which is connected to the second input of switch 11, series-connected signal duration code sensor 1 and divider with variable division factor 9, the output of which is connected to clock inputs of periodic function calculation unit 10 and pseudorandom sequence generator 6, frequency range code sensor 4, the output of which is connected to the second input of multiplier 7, initial frequency code sensor 5 with its output connected to the second input of adder 8, and clock pulse generator 12 with its output connected to clock inputs of divider with variable division factor 9 and phase calculation unit 13.

EFFECT: technical result is the possibility of synthesis of a signal with settable duration, range, initial (central) frequency and arbitrary law of frequency modulation, including the pseudo-random one.
