FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method for automated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is performed by automated CPR device. Wherein it is controlled by compression unit position control unit while compression unit moving from the first start position of the first compression cycle to te first compression position corresponding to the first compression depth and back into initial position of compression unit. When the initial position is reached force applied to the compression unit is controlled until the second compression cycle begins. Force applied to the compression unit control includes application of counteracting force to the compression unit after the initial position is reached and before the beginning of the second compression cycle to ensure compression unit staying in contact or restoring contact with chest after each compression cycle enabling chest moving due to ventilation, if such ventilation is performed.

EFFECT: full time contact of compression unit with chest during compression cycles is performed providing at the same time complete chest movement.
