METHOD OF OBTAINING DESALINATED WATER AND HIGH-PURITY WATER FOR NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS FOR RESEARCH CENTRES Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC C02F9/00 C02F1/42 C02F1/44 G21F9/04

Abstract RU 2383498 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: source water is taken out of its storage container for pre-purification on a bulk carbon filter and on a mechanical filter, and then two successive reverse-osmotic filters for desalination and further on an ion-exchange filter for final purification. Before taking the filtrate of the first reverse-osmotic filter to the second filter, it is subjected to decarbonisation in an intermediate container by blowing atmospheric carbon dioxide. The purified water is accumulated in a pure water container. The concentrate of the second reverse-osmotic filter is returned to the source water container. The concentrate of the first reverse-osmotic filter is taken for dumping if it does not contain radioactive or chemically toxic contaminants, and for decontamination if otherwise.

EFFECT: invention increases degree of desalination of source water due to optimisation of operation modes of reverse-osmotic and ion exchange filters without increasing amount of salts in concentrates.
