FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: in some embodiments, a coating composition is obtained by a method including following steps: a) preparing a latex emulsion by a method including mixing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer component in a carrier to form a monomer emulsion, and reacting monomer emulsion with an initiator to form latex emulsion, b) preparing a hydroxyl functional oil graft copolymer by a method including reacting an epoxidised vegetable oil with a hydroxyl functional material in presence of an acid catalyst to form a hydroxyl functional oil polyol, and reacting hydroxyl functional oil polyol with an ethylenically unsaturated monomer component in presence of an initiator to form hydroxyl functional oil polyol graft copolymer, and c) blending latex emulsion and a crosslinker, then adding hydroxyl functional oil graft copolymer to form coating composition. Coating composition can exhibit minimum turbidity or not exhibit it, minimum colour acquisition or its absence and industrially acceptable adhesion. Invention also discloses substrates coated with compositions according to invention.
EFFECT: disclosed are coating compositions and methods of applying coatings on substrates using coating compositions.
