SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of beryllium compounds, specifically beryllium hydroxide, widely used in production of metal beryllium, copper-beryllium ligature, ceramics from beryllium oxide and beryllium salts. Described is a method of obtaining beryllium hydroxide from beryllium-containing concentrates through exposure thereof to concentrated sodium hydroxide solution, separation of solution from cake, where after separation of solution from cake, method includes two-step electrochemical neutralisation of excess alkali in anode chambers of electrolytic cells with separation of insoluble residue of hydroxides of iron and manganese after first step with alkali concentration of 170-180 g/dm³, separating beryllium hydroxide precipitate formed as a result of hydrolysis of sodium beryllate after second step of neutralising alkali to concentration of 30 g/dm³, and sodium hydroxide solution is fortified to concentration of 400-600 g/dm³, required for concentrate loosening, When passing through cathode chambers of electrolytic cells, separated from the anode cation-exchange membranes with compensation of losses of alkali addition of solid sodium hydroxide, where current consumption on electrochemical neutralisation of alkali in anode chambers of electrolytic cells at first step is not less than 188 A·h/dm³, and at 2nd step - not less than 93.8 A·h/dm³.

EFFECT: technical result is reduction of power consumption, reduced water consumption, setting up closed water circulation, preventing discharge of liquid wastes at tailing pond reduced load on environment.
