FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device and method of refining melts from aluminium alloys. Device comprises a housing made in the form of a tray, walls of which are located at an angle of 90° to each other and connected to poles of electric current source, in the lower part of the tray walls are fixed in slots of the beam, made from material with damping and dielectric properties. Sources of pulse oscillations are fixed on the external sides of the walls, beyond the sources of pulse oscillations there is a gate arranged in the upper part across the longitudinal axis of the tray and made with possibility of partial submersion into processed metal. Part of the tray beyond the said gate is isolated from atmosphere by means of a tight cap, connected to the vacuum pump. Method of refining aluminium and its alloys is disclosed.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of impurities removal from metal melts.
