FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device and method of refining melts from aluminium alloys. Device comprises a flat housing made in the form of a tray with trapezoidal channels at the bottom, on the walls of which there are electrodes connected to the positive terminal of a constant-voltage source, and inlet and outlet channels made on the housing bottom and equipped with magnetohydrodynamic pumps to feed and discharge liquid metal. Magnetohydrodynamic rotator is installed on the inlet channel in front of the inlet to the housing after magnetohydrodynamic pump. Housing is equipped with a tight moving cover, where a dosage bin flux is installed opposite the inlet channel of the housing, and an electrode connected to the negative pole of the current voltage source is installed over each trapezoidal channel to contact with liquid metal in the trapezoidal channel, on the cover there is a vacuum system for creating low pressure inside the housing. Method of refining melts from aluminium alloys is disclosed.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of impurities removal.
