FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the refining of aluminum and its alloys from hydrogen and other non-metallic inclusions. Method includes vacuum processing of aluminum and its alloys in a vacuum transport ladle with a lid during the cooling of the metal before pouring into a mixer and holding the liquid metal in a vacuum at a controlled temperature. Ratio of the surface area of the liquid metal in the ladle to the volume of metal in the ladle is maintained at least 1.10. Exposure during vacuum treatment is carried out until the temperature of the metal in the ladle is reduced, which is 750–790 °C.
EFFECT: reduced concentration of hydrogen in aluminum and its alloys, reduced flux consumption for refining of metal and reduced preparation time of the alloy is provided.
