FIELD: ecology.

SUBSTANCE: device comprises two identical gas-discharge detectors, open on air: measuring and calibration. Measuring detector detects air ions occurring on traces of alpha-particles and delivered from analysed surface in working area of detector with help of air flow. Calibration detector detects only ions coming from calibration alpha-radiation source, such as air ions from analysed surface does not come in working area of detector due to availability of electrostatic filter, through which air flow passes to calibration detector. Use of calibration detector, calibration alpha-radiation source, source of negative voltage, electrostatic filter, constant resistor and variable resistor allows tracking and compensating for loss of sensitivity of device due to sticking into thin anode wires for gas-discharge detectors and operated at high voltage, ultrafine particles carried by airflow.

EFFECT: providing stable high sensitivity of device during its long-term continuous operation.
