FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering and can be used for producing a catalyst for redox processes in aggressive media. Method for production of bimetallic catalyst includes application on an inert support surface integrated fine layer of microcystalline aggregates of titanium or zirconium and subsequent application of ultrathin layer of platinum on metal-coated surface. Application of a layer of titanium or zirconium is carried out by impregnating support with a titanium or zirconium tetrachloride solution with subsequent drying, mixing fine magnesium or zinc, calcination in inert gas medium. Further, method includes washing with nitric acid, water and drying. Application of platinum layer is carried out from weakly acidic solution with subsequent drying and recovery of platinum on surface of catalyst.
EFFECT: larger catalytically active surface, which enables to reduce content in catalyst of platinum with preservation of serviceability of heterogeneous redox system in nitric acid media.
