FIELD: safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of preventing formation in premises of explosive gas mixtures with involvement of hydrogen or methane, in particular, protective shell of reactors of nuclear power plants. In present invention, for recombination reaction, gas mixture is fed to at least one catalytic body. Catalytic body used is a fuel cell that is placed in channel with inlet and outlet zones so that fuel cell anode is located in inlet zone of channel, and cathode is located in outlet zone of channel. Gas mixture is fed to fuel cell by means of a compressor, fed from fuel cells.
EFFECT: technical result is prevention of formation in premises of explosive gas mixtures with involvement of hydrogen or methane due to higher threshold of ignition of mixture.
