SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the scope of an inquiry, wherein efficiency of the articles, sealed by polymer compounds, is evaluated, as well as of the reinforced articles made of polymer compounds, exposed to thermal strains in engineering, as well as during operation. Essentiality: probability of faultless operation at normal distribution of thermal strains and strength is determined by formula

where is the average value of tensile strength; is the average value of temperature voltage; S σ P is mean-square deviation of tensile strength; S σ T is mean-square deviation of temperature voltage; and lower temperature limit of mechanical operability is defined as the temperature at which the required probability of faultless operation is achieved.

EFFECT: improvement of assessment reliability of lower temperature limit of mechanical serviceability of the articles, sealed by polymer compounds, as well as of the reinforced articles made of polymer compounds, exposed to thermal strains.
