METHOD FOR FORMING A MUCOPERIOSTEAL FLAP DURING A SURGERY PERFORMED ON OROANTRAL FISTULA Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgical dentistry, otolaryngology, maxillo-facial surgery, and is intended for use in treating odontogenic maxillitis with oro-antral fistula. A cut is made on the gingival crevices, adjacent with the oro-antral fistula, wherein an incision is made in front of the fistula and at the level of two teeth, and an incision is made behind the fistula and at the level of one tooth. Then the incision is extended vertically upwards to a transitory fold line, wherein undermining in different directions is carried out along the whole length of the incision and deeper down to the transitory fold line without separating submucous membrane. Trapezoid flap with its base on the transitory fold is cut from the submucous-periosteal layer within the fistula. Flap is detached from the alveolar process, raised, placed on the area of fistula and then fix to the palatal side of the mucous alveolar. Mucous flap is fixed in its initial position.

EFFECT: method due to preserving the required volume of oral soft tissues and their anatomic-topographic ratio allows to reduce surgical injuries and reduce the length of rehabilitation.
