FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to flat layered sealing materials (paronites) and various gaskets made therefrom, and intended for operation in sealing assemblies with flat sealing surfaces during operation of which material is subjected to variable thermal and mechanical loads - periodic compressions, heating, etc. Layered sealing material includes multiple flat parallel layers of polymer composite material comprising a matrix from rubber vulcanisate, accommodating particles (fibres) of filler materials. Compressibility of surface layers or one of surface layers is not less than 3 % higher than compressibility of central layers.
EFFECT: higher sealing capacity of material (gaskets).
