FIELD: processing and recycling of wastes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of gaseous radioactive wastes at nuclear power stations, namely, to a generator of gaseous radioactive methyl iodide for testing iodic filters. Generator of gaseous radioactive methyl iodide for testing iodic filters comprises a housing with air feed branch pipe, on which there is an inlet aerosol filter, with an outlet branch pipe of gaseous radioactive methyl iodide. Housing includes a liquid methyl iodide evaporator, connected with a heater. Generator comprises an isotope exchange reactor with a replaceable cartridge with gas-permeable material containing radioactive iodides of alkali metals, inlet of which is connected with the outlet of the liquid non-radioactive methyl iodide evaporator, and outlet of the reactor is connected with the outlet branch pipe of gaseous radioactive methyl iodide, inlet of the evaporator is connected with the air feed branch pipe.

EFFECT: invention provides higher safety of works while improving convenience of operation.
