FIELD: processing and recycling wastes; nuclear physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of handling gaseous radioactive waste in nuclear power plants and other nuclear installations, and more specifically, to methods for preparing solid granulated reagent with a radioactive isotope of iodine to produce gaseous radioactive methyl iodide for the purpose of its use in conducting tests of iodine filters "on site" in ventilation systems important to the safety of nuclear power plants. In the method, a solution in ethanol Na131I or K131I without a carrier is added to the nonporous electroplating corundum granules until a pasty mass is formed with holding it for one to two hours and then drying at a temperature in the range (90–110) °C to a free-flowing state.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to evenly distribute the radioactive isotope on the surface of corundum granules.
