FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to investigation or analysis of vapour of substances by measuring their physical properties using mass spectrometry and mass spectrometry of negative ions of resonant electron capture, including combined with chromatography. Method of identifying organic compounds based on use of gas chromatography and mass spectrometry of electronic ionisation. In order to obtain analytical information a method for mass spectrometry of negative ions of resonant electron capture is used and to establish a connection structure data of three methods are used together: gas chromatography, mass spectrometry of electronic ionisation and mass spectrometry of negative ions of resonant electron capture. After chromatographic separation substances are ionised by electronic ionization with detection of positive ions (PI) and/or are ionised by electrons, having energy from 0 to 15 EV, with detection of negative ions. Then based on recorded mass spectra, probable molecular weight is determined, gross-formula of fragmentation ions and isotope ions contained in structure of molecules is determined, obtained results are compared with library data: mass spectra of positive ions (NIST) and mass spectra of negative ions containing more than 100 mass spectra of analysed compounds.

EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability of identifying substances, broader functional capabilities of mass-spectrometric method for negative ions of resonant electron capture.
