FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: in mass-spectrometer ionisation chamber is divided to two parts by the metal gas-tight partition, each part of the ionisation chamber has its own cathode supplying to it an electron beam, an ion-optic system pulls the ions from the first part of the chamber, energy E of the electrons supplied from the cathode to the second part of the chamber is selected based on the ratio E < I, where I is potential of ionisation of molecules or atoms of carrying gas. Ions generated in the second part of the chamber enter the collector located such that neither ionising nor secondary electrons will enter it, and are registered on it.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of area determination of the chromatographic peak.
