FIELD: safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and systems for controlling passage of vehicles through border at their movement in both directions. Used is a video camera with a “fisheye” lens mounted above the said boundary so that the spherical scene image at the output of video camera provides view of given zones representing registration plates of vehicles crossing the border in opposite directions used to identify vehicle registration numbers. In autonomous mode the access control is performed using passage approval criteria suitable for different situations. Centralized mode of vehicle registration number recognition is performed using proposed system and passage is controlled by gate control center.
EFFECT: enabling autonomous and centralised control modes for vehicle movement monitoring in complex systems.
